Iowa: Louisa County
Louisa County is a unique county in Southeast Iowa that offers much more in the way of public natural resources than most other counties in Iowa. Nearly all of the Southeast section of the state is private land with the exception of a few small select state parks.

Louisa County hosts thousands of acres of wetlands and more than 72 miles of river, five county and city campgrounds and 13,000+ acres of public hunting. However, not all of that public hunting allows deer hunting. Some may allow only a select number of species to be hunted, so be sure to check with the Department of Natural Resources before setting out on a public land hunt. In addition to these resources, you will also find over 15,000 acres of parks and natural areas bordered by the Mississippi River System.
