SE Iowa Home Sales - Trends for 2010

Posted by  //

At LandandGame we are trying to keep our potential buyers as informed as possible.  As home trends around the U.S. are constantly changing, Iowa seems to be gaining ground.  With home sales up 35.3% from April '09 to April '10.  It looks as though there are clouds clearing and the sun will be shining down on us again.  In Southeast Iowa, we have had property values increase across the board, ranging from 17.7% to 27.5%.  Yes, this means home prices are going up, but it also means homes are gaining ground on holding thier value.  As far as days on the market, we see some communities holding the same numbers and others seeing a 53% increase.  Homes are averaging 123 days on the market in SE Iowa.  When it comes to year to date sales in Southeast Iowa only 1 out of 4 mls organizations report a gain.  The good news is the other mls organizations are within 3 sales to match last years totals.  So the market is holding steady, which at this point, we'll take!
